How to delete your WhatsApp account

If you're cancelling your gosimless subscription and your mobile number is registered on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business, it's essential to delete your WhatsApp account to avoid additional fees and ensure a smooth transition.

WhatsApp account deletion steps

Follow this simple step-by-step guide to remove your gosimless number from WhatsApp:

• Open WhatsApp Business Account on your mobile and tap on Settings.
• After opening the Settings, tap on Delete My Account.
• You will be prompted to select your region and verify your number.
• After your WhatsApp Business Account number is verified, state a reason for removing your WhatsApp Business Account or write down how WhatsApp can improve its services (optional).
• After stating a reason or providing your feedback, one final confirmation is required. Click on Delete My Account to confirm and remove your WhatsApp Business Account.

If you use your gosimless number using the WhatsApp API, you can delete the number using the following process:

• Log in to your Facebook Business Suite
• Select Settings > WhatsApp Accounts > WhatsApp Manager
• Select your business portfolio
• Find the phone number you want to delete
• Click the Delete icon
• Follow the steps to delete the phone number
• Enter the password for your Facebook business account to confirm the deletion

Why delete your WhatsApp account?

If the number isn't removed from WhatsApp or other digital services within 7 days of the cancellation request, a £50 manual removal fee will apply as per our Terms of Service. Additionally, you may lose access to these platforms once the number is reassigned.
